Capturing Calls on iPhone

Learn how to capture client calls on iOS using Apple native call recording or the Aila Share Sheet extension.

Method 1: Native iOS 18 Call Recording

iOS 18 supports native phone call recording and transcription in supported regions.

Step-by-Step Workflow

  1. Place or receive a standard phone call on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the Record Call button in the top-left corner of the call screen.
  3. Apple announces that the call is being recorded to both parties.
  4. When the call ends, open the Notes app to locate the saved call recording.
  5. Tap the Share icon on the recording note.
  6. Select Save to Aila in the Share Sheet.
  7. Tap Upload. Aila ingests the audio and starts cloud processing.

Method 2: Share Sheet Audio Import

Import audio files from Voice Memos, Files, or email attachments:

  1. Open the app containing the audio recording (Voice Memos, Files, WhatsApp).
  2. Tap the Share button on the target audio file.
  3. Select Save to Aila.
  4. Enter optional contact metadata and tap Send to Aila.

Pinning Aila to the Share Sheet

To make Aila immediately accessible in your Share Sheet:

  1. Open any audio file and tap Share.
  2. Scroll to the right of the app icons and tap More.
  3. Tap Edit in the top-right corner.
  4. Tap the green + icon next to Save to Aila under Suggestions.
  5. Drag Aila to the Favorites section and tap Done.
