Capturing Calls on iPhone
On iOS 18 and later, iPhone can record phone calls natively. Aila turns that into a one-share pipeline: record the call, tap the Notes pop-up, share to Aila, done. The transcript, summary, and extracted data arrive a few minutes later.

The flow
- Start recording on the call. Once you're both on the line, tap More, then Call Recording. iPhone announces the recording to both sides and a timer appears.
- Hang up, or tap stop. Tap the red square to stop early, or just end the call — the recording saves either way.
- Tap the Notes pop-up. The moment the call ends, a Notes notification appears. Tap it to open your recording. This is the step most people miss — iPhone saves call recordings into the Notes app, not Voice Memos or Files.
- Share it to Aila. Tap the share button in the top right, pick Aila (or the Save to Aila action), then tap Upload. When you tap Open Aila afterward, the app takes you straight to the call's transcript.

Pin Aila so it's always one tap away
The share sheet buries new apps by default. Pinning fixes that permanently, and there are two ways — you only need one:
Pin the app (top row). In the share sheet, scroll the app row to the far right and tap the three dots (More). Tap Edit, tap the green + next to Aila, then tap the gold checkmark. Aila now always appears in the app row.
Pin the action (list below). In the share sheet, tap View More on the second row, then Edit Actions. Scroll to Save to Aila, switch it on, tap the green +, then the gold checkmark.

Other ways to get audio in
- Add / import call recording on the Capture tab opens the Notes app, where iPhone saves call recordings — find your recording and share it to Aila from there.
- Share from anywhere. Any app that can share an audio file can send it to Aila: Files, Voice Memos, email attachments, messaging apps. Use the share sheet and pick Aila.

After the upload
Uploads land on the Calls tab with a live processing status. Processing typically takes 1–3 minutes; the list and the call detail refresh themselves while it runs, and the transcript, summary, and extracted data unlock as soon as they're ready. See Calls, Playback & Export.
