Custom Datasets
Custom Datasets let you define exactly what information Aila extracts from every call. Think of them as structured forms that Aila fills in automatically after each conversation.
Overview
By default, Aila generates a general call summary. Custom Datasets let you extract specific, structured fields — things like budget, timeline, objections, pain points, or any other data point relevant to your sales process.
Extracted data syncs to connected CRMs (GoHighLevel, Salesforce, etc.) automatically.
Creating a Dataset
- Navigate to Settings > Custom Datasets
- Click New Dataset
- Give the dataset a name (e.g., "Discovery Call", "Follow-Up")
- Add fields:
- Field Name — what you want to extract (e.g., "Budget Range")
- Description — guide for the AI on what to look for
- Field Type — text, number, date, yes/no, etc.
- Click Save
Field Types
| Type | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Text | Open-ended text | "Pain points mentioned" |
| Number | Numeric values | "Monthly budget" |
| Date | Dates or timeframes | "Expected close date" |
| Yes/No | Boolean values | "Expressed interest" |
| List | Multiple values | "Objections raised" |
AI Dataset Builder
Use the Build with AI button to generate a dataset automatically. Describe your use case and Aila will suggest relevant fields.
Applying Datasets to Calls
Datasets can be assigned:
- Globally — applied to all calls (default dataset)
- Per call type — via Call Routing rules
- Manually — select a dataset when viewing an individual call
Syncing to CRM
Once a dataset is configured, map its fields to your CRM in Settings > Connections. After each call, extracted values are automatically pushed to the corresponding CRM fields.
Tips
- Keep field descriptions specific — the more context you give the AI, the more accurate the extraction
- Start with 3–5 high-value fields before adding more
- Use Call Routing to apply different datasets to different call types (e.g., discovery vs. follow-up)
Next Steps
- Call Routing — Assign datasets based on call type
- Connections — Sync extracted data to your CRM
